Flixkit is a family filmmaking app. Because families film children with it, we hold ourselves to a high bar: collect as little as possible, never sell data, and never use children’s footage for advertising or model training. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Accounts are held by adults
You create an account as an adult (18+) and confirm you’re the grown-up in charge. We collect your email and, optionally, a display name. Children do not have their own accounts.
Your films and recordings
The clips you record and the films we render for you are stored privately and are only accessible to your account. We use them solely to provide the Service — rendering, playback, and download. You can delete a finished film at any time from your account page; deleting removes it from your library.
Analytics — IDs and counts only
We measure how the product is used so we can improve it, using a first-party system we built ourselves (no third-party ad trackers). Our analytics are strictly limited to identifiers and enums — never child names, film titles, cast names, free text, faces, voices, transcripts, or precise location. A privacy guard enforces this on the device and again on our server before any event is stored.
What we collect
- Account data: email, optional display name, and the dates you confirmed adulthood and accepted the terms.
- Content: your recordings and rendered films, stored privately for your use.
- Product analytics:anonymous/account identifiers and event names (e.g. “film_created”) — no personal content.
- Marketing: if you join our waitlist or newsletter, we store your email and how you found us so we can reach you and understand which channels work.
What we never do
- We never sell your data.
- We never use children’s footage to train AI models.
- We never run third-party advertising trackers on children.
Your choices
You can update your details, delete your films, unsubscribe from email, and request deletion of your account and associated data. To make a privacy request, email privacy@flixkit.app.
Children’s privacy (COPPA)
Flixkit is directed to parents and other adults, not to children directly. Adults control the account and the content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for our own use, and our analytics are designed so children’s personal details are never captured. If you believe a child’s information has been mishandled, contact us and we will address it promptly.
